Rabies is very dangerous and veterans who may have been in contact or bitten by a warm-blooded mammal in the past year and a half should get checked.
Rabies gives you extreme symptoms of delirium, hallucinations, slight or partial paralysis, anxiety, confusion, increase in saliva, difficulty swallowing, fear of water, and insomnia. Death occurs mere days after these symptoms.
tl;dr If you got bitten by a mammal, get checked for rabies.
